Typical applications

For compact ASK remote-control receivers.

LR690L provides the RF reception and demodulated pulse output for a downstream decoder IC or MCU.

Remote-control receivers

Receiving terminals for ASK wireless remote-control products.

Smart-home controls

Receiver control boards for smart-home equipment.

Doorbells & switches

Wireless doorbells, switches and other low-rate controls.

!

Security alarms

ASK/OOK receiving equipment for alarm-trigger applications.

System position

RF reception first. Decoding comes next.

ANT receives the matched RF signal; DATA outputs demodulated baseband pulses for the downstream logic.

Application boundaries

Validate the complete receiver path.

Receiver performance depends on the target frequency, crystal/reference network, RF matching, antenna, supply, PCB layout and final enclosure.

Good starting fit

✓ ASK remote-control receiving applications.

✓ A downstream decoder IC or MCU reads DATA pulses.

✓ The target band uses a matched antenna and RF network.

✓ SHUT control is available for low-power operation.

Check carefully

! Do not treat DATA as UART or decoded key data.

! Match the crystal/reference circuit to the target frequency.

! Keep ANT, crystal and matching traces short and away from noise.

! Verify reception in the final enclosure and installation.

Pin assignment

Six IC connections

XTAL
External crystal or reference-frequency-related connection.
GND
System ground.
SHUT
Low for active operation; high or floating for sleep.
DATA
Demodulated digital pulse output.
VDD
Positive supply; 2.0–5.5 V.
ANT
RF input for the antenna or matching network.

Operating modes

Two defined states

  1. Active modeDrive SHUT low; DATA outputs demodulated ASK data.
  2. Sleep modeDrive SHUT high or leave it floating; no valid received data is output.

Confirm VDD, GND, SHUT and DATA levels before connecting the antenna and downstream decoder.

Does LR690L decode remote-control addresses or key values?

No. DATA provides demodulated baseband pulses. Add a decoder IC or MCU for address learning, key decoding, switch output or serial output.

Is DATA a UART interface?

No. DATA is a pulse output and must not be treated as UART data.

How is sleep mode controlled?

Drive SHUT high or leave it floating for sleep. Drive SHUT low for active reception.

Can one RF network cover every frequency from 300 to 440 MHz?

The IC covers that range, but the crystal/reference circuit, matching network and antenna must be selected and verified for the target frequency.
