Typical applications

Choose it for a short-range UART link.

Use the module where two endpoints exchange serial data and the system can operate with half-duplex, request-response communication.

Wireless UART communication

Transfer ASCII or HEX data between two UART TTL endpoints without a signal cable.

Data acquisition

Return sampled device data to a nearby controller over a short-range wireless link.

Industrial and remote control

Exchange command and response data for industrial control, remote-control, or robot-control products.

Embedded devices

Add a compact SMD wireless link to smart-home appliances and other embedded equipment.

System operation

Two UART endpoints. One wireless bridge.

Modules at both ends must use matching Net ID, RF channel, UART baud rate, and other communication parameters.

Two wireless modules connecting MCU UART devices

Link behavior: The module automatically switches between transmit and receive. Use master-slave polling, request-response, or another mechanism that prevents simultaneous bidirectional transmission.

Application boundaries

Validate the complete link.

The module simplifies short-range embedded links, but final performance depends on the complete product and installation.

Good starting fit

✓ Both endpoints use compatible UART TTL logic.

✓ The application supports half-duplex exchange.

✓ Both ends can share matching Net ID, RF channel, and UART settings.

✓ The finished enclosure can be tested.

Check carefully

! Do not connect 5 V UART logic directly.

! Confirm power-supply stability at the module pins.

! Keep the integrated antenna area clear.

! Open-space range is not installed-system range.

* Range condition: Approx. 50 m is a reference value for open line-of-sight conditions. Actual distance depends on the antenna, power supply, enclosure, installation, and interference.

Pin assignment

Six host connections

V / VCC
2.2-3.6 V positive supply; typical 3.3 V.
R / RXD
Module data input. Connect to MCU TXD; UART TTL level.
T / TXD
Module data output. Connect to MCU RXD; UART TTL level.
S / SET
Low: configuration mode. High or floating: communication mode.
C / CS
Low: active. High or floating: sleep.
G / GND
Common ground with the MCU or external serial device.

Operating modes

Three defined states

  1. Comm. ModeCS low; SET high or floating. Uses the configured baud rate.
  2. Config. ModeCS low; SET low. Fixed at 9600 bps, 8N1; blue LED remains on.
  3. Sleep ModeCS high or floating; SET can be in any state. Communication is unavailable.

After configuration, drive SET high and wait about 0.5 s before communication testing.

Sample evaluation

Prove the link before design-in.

Separate serial, radio and enclosure effects so the team can diagnose the correct layer.

  1. 1

    Build the bench link

Use two modules and a UART DEMO tool with factory-default parameters.

  2. 2

    Confirm connections

Cross TXD/RXD, share GND, keep CS low, and keep SET high or floating.

  3. 3

    Match parameters

Confirm Net ID, RF channel, and UART baud rate at both ends.

  4. 4

    Validate the final product

Begin with short packets, then test the application protocol, enclosure, installation, and power supply.

Can two modules communicate with factory defaults?

Yes. Default power-on parameters can be used directly for a two-module communication test when the circuit is connected correctly.

What must match at both ends?

Net ID, RF channel, UART baud rate, and the other communication parameters must match.

Is 250 kbps the UART baud rate?

No. It is the RF air data rate. UART baud rate is a separate setting and defaults to 9600 bps.

Can RXD or TXD connect directly to 5 V UART logic?

No. Confirm logic-level compatibility against the module supply voltage and evaluate level shifting for a 5 V host.

Is the link full duplex?

No. The wireless link is half-duplex. Use polling or request-response to avoid simultaneous bidirectional transmission.

How should the 50 m value be used?

It is an approximate open-line-of-sight reference, not a guaranteed installed-system distance.
