Typical applications

For configurable embedded UART links.

Connect controller, sensor, meter and equipment UART data where the system can use half-duplex communication.

Remote control

Transfer commands and status data without a signal cable.

Data acquisition

Connect low-rate sensor, meter and terminal data.

Smart devices

Add a configurable wireless UART link to embedded products.

Industrial control

Support local control and status links with suitable timing.

System operation

Two UART endpoints. One wireless bridge.

Both modules must use matching Net ID, RF channel and UART communication parameters.

Application boundaries

Validate the complete link.

Final performance depends on the complete product, antenna, installation and interference environment.

Good starting fit

✓ Both endpoints use compatible UART TTL logic.

✓ The application supports half-duplex exchange.

✓ Net ID, RF channel and UART settings match.

Check carefully

! Confirm UART logic levels against the module supply voltage.

! Use a matched 2.4 GHz external antenna.

! Test the final enclosure and installation.

* Range condition: Approx. 100 m is a reference value for open line-of-sight conditions. Actual distance depends on the antenna, power supply, structure, and on-site interference.

Operating modes

Three defined states

  1. Communication modeCS low; SET high or floating. Transparent transmission using configured parameters.
  2. Configuration modeCS low; SET low. Fixed at 9600 bps, 8N1 for parameter read/write.
  3. Sleep modeCS high or floating; wireless communication is unavailable.

Sample evaluation

Prove the link before design-in.

Start with the factory parameters and a short, controlled bench link.

  1. 1

    Build the bench link

Use two modules and a UART test setup.

  2. 2

    Confirm connections

Cross TXD/RXD, share GND, keep CS low, and select the correct SET state.

  3. 3

    Match parameters

Confirm Net ID, RF channel and UART baud rate at both ends.

  4. 4

    Validate the final product

Test antenna, power supply, enclosure and installation orientation.

Downloads

Technical files for evaluation and design-in.

Can two modules communicate with factory defaults?

Yes. With the circuit connected correctly, a two-module communication test can use the factory-default parameters.

What must match at both ends?

Net ID, RF channel and UART communication parameters must match.

Is Ling-TR2 full duplex?

No. The wireless link is half-duplex. Use polling or request-response to avoid simultaneous bidirectional transmission.

Which antenna should I use?

Use an external 2.4 GHz matched antenna and validate final performance in the completed product.
